The Lions Club of Littleport have had a busy summer

We joined with Timebank and the local scouts to do a litter pick around Littleport, on 16th June, and afterwards we all met at Adams Heritage Centre for refreshments and a chat.

On Wednesday 19th June the Lions hosted an afternoon tea at Anchor Court. The entertainment was provided by the Littleport Community Choir with an eclectic mix of music ranging from songs from the shows, folk songs and ending with a medley of music from around Great Britain.

Many thanks to Gail Newton and her choir for a very entertaining afternoon. This was followed by a high tea which included dainty sandwiches, a selection of six cakes and scones & cream. A special favourite was Lillian’s bread pudding and Ann’s lemon drizzle cake. The Lions were very pleased to see so many residents from Anchor Court. Thanks to Pam who we coordinated with for this event, everyone had a good time and requests were made for another event nearer Christmas so watch this space.

Also The Lions Club of Littleport had a wonderful time, on Sunday 7th July, at Ely Aquafest raising money for charity through their teddy tombola stall, where everyone who gave £1 won a prize of a cuddly toy every time. Many children were delighted with their toys that they won. Several children thanked us for their lovely prizes. The money from the tombola will be reinvested into projects to benefit the community.

On Sunday August 18th at the Littleport Community Garden at Peacocks Meadow off Limes Close we hosted a free event which included a Teddy Bears Picnic and Treasure Hunt!

We are always open to welcoming new members to Lions Club of Littleport. We are a welcoming and friendly club who are growing.
